Good Lakers game
A Sunday night Lakers game. Parking was easy with lots of lots around Staples Center. The cheapest ones were $10 about two blocks away, then it gradually climbs to $12, $15, $20. The lines getting in weren't long. Inside the center it was easily navigable with lots of clean restrooms and food stands to choose from.
Before getting to our seats, we had to wait until a whistle blows to be able to walk into the stadium. I thought that was nice as it ensures a more ordered crowd and doesn't ruin the flow of the game. At Section 318, Row 1, it was very easy to see the players and their movements. I think 318 row 1 pretty much has the same views as the best luxury suites.
After the game is done, getting out took a few minutes but was very ordered in lines. We got a free Jack-in-the-Box taco coupon on the way out. There were cops on the streets outside the stadium so it felt safe.
Driving to the game I knew not to count on a good game because the Lakers havent had the best record and Kevin Durant has been havinf consistant 40 point plus games. For sure I thought OKC would lead by 20 pts the whole game. I went in with an open attitude and just to enjoy the atmosphere. Who knew the game would have been so exciting and so entertaining. Once the Lakers took the lead from OKC I coudn't stay in my seat. Plus, all the Laker fans around me helped a lot with my excitement and joy! Best NBA game I've been to so far.
Not enough Grit
Other than a few players like Kuzma, the Lakers disappointed, especially some of the starters. With all the work they put in, it seems that it would translate over to their skill set. It was exciting at times, but they have a lot of work to do. I think the Timberwolves size and strength intimidated most of the first year players, even Lonzo. BI doesn't appear NBA ready for toughness. I must admit that the some of theTimberwolves looked like NFL fullbacks or lineman and played tough. I hope Luke Walton keeps his word and allows the players who do well to start. Luke has the talent, but can he bring out their full potential? That remains to be seen.
